Enjoy organic, locally grown and produced food, live entertainment and informative health and well-being demonstrations at the Farmers’ Market at the UA. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on University Blvd.
Mirror lab tour
This tour will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look into the cutting-edge technology and revolutionary processes involved in the making of giant telescope mirrors – from constructing the mold, to casting, to polishing, to delivering the finished product on a mountain top, to viewing the universe. The tour will take place in the Steward Observatory at 2 p.m.
Witness For Peace talk
“”Notes From A Witness For Peace Delegation To Venezuela,”” by Riley Merline.
From 2002-2004 Merline monitored the effects of U.S. policies in Colombia while working for Witness for Peace and was contracted by the organization to co-lead an educational delegation to Venezuela in June 2008. Currently, Merline is the associate director of the Earlham College Border Studies Program. The talk will take place in the Communications building room 206 at 2 p.m.
