Habitat for Humanity meeting

The Wildcats with Habitat for Humanity club, or HabiCats, will be holding their first meeting today from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sabino Room of the Student Union Memorial Center. The HabiCats volunteer to raise money and build homes for families in substandard housing.

Candidate debate tonight

A District 7 congressional debate will be held tonight at 7 in the Kiva Room of the SUMC. Candidates Joe Cobb, Ron Drake and Raul Grijalva will be debating about issues facing Arizona today. The event, hosted by the Associated Students of the University of Arizona, is free and open to all.

Arizona ranked last in smartest-state list

Arizona was ranked No. 50 in a ranking of the smartest states put out this week by Morgan Quitno Press, a Kansas ranking publication. Vermont received the top spot in the ranking, which is based on educational factors such as graduation rates, test scores, teacher pay and class size.
