    3 things to know today

    Volunteers needed for BIO5 ceremony

    The BIO5 Institute is looking for volunteers for the dedication ceremony of the Thomas W. Keating Bioresearch building Dec. 1. Volunteers are needed at registration tables, tour sign-in tables, the staging/VIP area, parking, morning setup and as escorts and tour guides.     College degrees pay off

    College graduates made an average of $51,554, compared with $28,645 for adults with a high school diploma, according to the most recent figures from the Census Bureau. People with advanced college degrees, including a master’s or Ph.D., made an average of $78,093, while high school dropouts earned an average of $19,169.

    ‘Never a Victim’ violence awareness workshop

    The Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services will be holding a free workshop for all women today from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Martial Arts of Tucson, 5250 E. Pima St. Women can learn self-defense and participate in discussion. Call 325-0709 for more information.
