Spark Project Collective breaks Guinness World Record

A tattoo artist contributes to the mission established by Spark Project Collective on Oct. 13 at the Tucson Expo Center. Part of the proceeds will be given back to Tucson to facilitate community-driven events.

On Friday, Oct. 13, Spark Project Collective set out to beat the Guinness World Record for most tattoos in 12 hours by accomplishing 900 tattoos. The Collective additionally wanted to continue to facilitate meaningful collaborations between tattoo artists and those that want to make a positive impact in their communities. The theme for the event was centered around “Friday the 13th” and a World Record Attempt Extravaganza. The local community that participated showed their support, resulting in one local member who completed 37 tattoos in one sitting to kick off the event. On Oct. 19, Spark Project Collective announced it broke the record for most tattoos completed in 12 hours.

Spark Project Collective is a non-profit organization that gives tattoo lovers a unique experience by donating all the proceeds that are paid for the service of getting a tattoo towards the Tucson community. The organization is dedicated to community outreach and has donated to art therapy for children with disabilities, raised food and clothes for the homeless and donated 26,000 hygiene kits
