    Wednesday, Jan. 13

    State Radio, an alternative band known for its grassroots activism and singer/songwriter style, will be playing at Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St., 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

    Thursday, Jan. 14

    Sonora Review will be hosting the Aural Pleasure Party at Club Congress. The event will feature Steve Orlen reading from and signing his new book, “”A Thousand Threads,”” and music by Sunny Italy. This 21+ event is free. 7 p.m. 311 E. Congress St.

    Laffs Comedy Club is holding an Open Mic night. 2900 E. Broadway Blvd., 8 p.m. Every Thursday until Jan. 26.

    Friday, Jan. 15

    “”The Great American Trailer Park Musical”” will be showing at the Temple of Music and Art. The production will have showtimes on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. until Jan. 24. 330 S. Scott Ave. General admission is $27.50; student price is $25.

    Saturday, Jan. 16

    Broadway in Tucson Presents “”All the Singing Ladies: The Girl Power Sing-A-Long”” at The Loft Cinema. The show will consist of a montage of musical clips from popular chick flicks, music videos and television shows. 3233 E. Speedway Blvd., 7:30 p.m. General admission is $8; $6 for Loft members.

    Sunday, Jan. 17

    Query-ing Queer Sexuality: Educational Insights for an LGBT-Affirming Church is a six-week course expanding on sexual identity and diversity. It is held every Sunday until Feb. 14 at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. This week the course will feature guest speaker Rev. James B. Nelson. 3809 E. Third St. 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Free.

    Monday, Jan 18.

    The Martin Luther King Day Film Projét will be premiering winning submissions at The Loft Cinema. The short original films are aimed at demonstrating King’s concept of “”beloved community.”” 3233 E. Speedway Blvd., 5:30 p.m. Free.

    Tuesday, Jan. 19

    The UA’s own resident improv comedy group, The Charles Darwin Experience, will be performing at Gallagher Theater every Tuesday throughout the semester. Get there early as seats fill up fast. 10 p.m. Free.
