    3 things to know today

    The season of giving begins

    Mortar Board Senior Honorary is collecting monetary donations and nonperishable food items to feed 50 families Thanksgiving dinners. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off through Monday at all residence hall front desks, the Marshall building (Room 220), the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, the Music building (Room 111) and McClelland Hall (Room 202).     Make-a-Wish benefit concert

    Haley Jane, Anarbor and Kyle Phelan will be performing on Bear Down Field tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the “”Rock for a Wish”” benefit concert for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which aids children living with a terminal illness. Tickets can be purchased before the concert from Chi Omega sorority house, 1420 E. First St., for $5 or at the concert for $7.

    PlayStation 3 on sale

    PlayStation 3 goes on sale today, but retailers across the country arranged midnight sales as lines formed as early as Wednesday. Buyers are shelling out $600 for the console, with bids on eBay as high as $9,000 – although Sony admitted that PlayStation 3 can’t play some of the games from previous generations of the console, according to The Associated Press.
