Three University groups, working concurrently, have questioned the effectiveness of revoking social privledges in dealing with low grade-pont stndings among Greek organizations.
Student Council, Social Life Committee and Interfraternity Council have recommended that the groups should not be penalized for the failing grades of new members who drop school.
Three suggestions for dealing with the problems are included in the recommendation: (1) The entire system be abolished; (2) activities directly distracting from scholarship be taken away from groups with low grade point averages and (3) groups be allowed to withdraw members fro their roles until a certain time, after which they would accept scholastic responsibility for these members.
If passed by the faculty-student Student Life Committee, the recommendation will be presented to the University Committee on Student Activities and Eligibility.
