A vehicle in the Second Street Parking Garage caught fire on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was a contained blaze that caused no injuries, according to Sgt. Filbert Barrera, public information officer for the University of Arizona Police Department.
“It looks like the fire was started because of an electrical problem inside of a car,” Barrera said. “[The fire] was on the first level on the north side … at the admin garage.”
UAPD and the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene within minutes of the 911 call, Barrera said.
“We got the call, I believe it was at 1:31,” Barrera said, “and we got there at 1:33.”
Barrera said the fire was put out shortly after emergency responders arrived.
Roads in the area were closed for about 20 minutes, Barrera said.
