The Daily Wildcat staff makes its picks for Arizona football, Pac-12 in 2016 season

Saul Bookman, sports editor

Arizona Record: 6-6

This would include a win over BYU. Without it, I can’t see a scenario where Arizona makes a bowl game for the fifth consecutive season.

Pac-12 Champion: Stanford

Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year: Adoree Jackson, DB, USC

Dominic Baciocco, managing editor

Arizona record: 6-6

The floor is lower than the ceiling is high for the Wildcats this season. If Arizona doesn’t win its three out-of-conference matchups to start the season, Rich Rodriguez and company will be in a heap of trouble.

Pac-12 Champion: UCLA

Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

Defensive Player of the Year: Budda Baker, DB, Washington

Justin Spears, senior reporter

Arizona record: 8-4

The month of October won’t be too kind to the Wildcats with UCLA, Utah, USC and Stanford on the schedule. At least the ‘Cats draw Stanford and USC in Tucson. If Arizona can escape October with a winning record or at least .500, then they’ll do just fine this season.

Pac-12 Champion: UCLA

Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year: Eddie Vanderdoes, DL, UCLA

Fernando Galvan, sports editor

Arizona record: 6-6

Arizona must start off the season 3-0 or it will suffer its first losing season and miss a bowl for the first time in five years. With a loaded Pac-12 and changes on defense, I just don’t see them making noise.

Pac-12 Champion: Stanford

Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffery, RB, Stanford

Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year: Budda Baker, DB, Washington

Ryan Kelapire, senior reporter

Arizona Record: 7-5

I see the Wildcats being 6-5 heading into the final game of the season, where I believe they’ll beat ASU.

Pac-12 Champion: Stanford

Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year: Budda Baker, DB, Washington

Ivan Leonard, senior reporter

Arizona Record: 7-5

While Arizona will not be among the conference’s elite, it should be able to beat the teams its supposed to.

Pac-12 Champion: Oregon

Offensive Player of the Year: Royce Freeman, RB, Oregon

Defensive Player of the Year: Adoree Jackson, DB, USC
