Jose DeJesus Cuevas-Hernandez was identified as the suspect of a stabbing incident that occurred Wednesday morning near Fourth Street and Tyndall Avenue.

Jose DeJesus Cuevas-Hernandez was identified as the suspect of a stabbing incident that occurred Wednesday morning near Fourth Street and Tyndall Avenue.

University of Arizona Police Department officers continue to investigate a stabbing that was reported early this morning.

“We received a call at 6:55 this morning in reference to someone who was reported stabbed,” said UAPD Officer Barrera.

The suspect was identified as Jose DeJesus Cuevas-Hernandez, a 63-year-old Hispanic male from Tucson. Cuevas-Hernandez has brown hair brown eyes and a thick, bushy mustache.

UAPD officers found the victim on the scene with “serious non-life threatening injuries,” according to a press release from UAPD.

“We found a victim who was stabbed and he was transported by Tucson Fire Department to UAMC,” Barrera said.

UAPD has not yet found the suspect and is asking anyone who sees Cuevas-Hernandes to not approach him and call 911.

“Since we have the description and a good idea of who we’re looking for, we incorporate the assistance of the other agencies just in case they make contact with him outside of the University of Arizona,” said Joe Bermudez, a spokesman for UAPD.
