Chanel is known for having unique settings for its fashion shows. Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of the fashion house, is a perfectionist who must always have the best runway shows in the business.
Whether Chanel is having a fashion show in a grocery store or an airport, their haute couture lines’ impeccable pieces will make any setting classy.
Chanel’s spring and summer 2016 line was presented in Grand Palais, an ornate museum complex and exhibition hall in Paris that has been home to many things. .
Designers transformed Grand Palais’ halls into a faux outdoor scene, complete with a garden, blue skies, turf, trees and a huge wooden dollhouse where models were revealed at the end of the show. The models were on multiple different levels of the wooden house, wearing different pieces of the collection. The setting of the show was perfect for the presented pieces — the whole aura of the show was ethereal.
Chanel inspires its followers and fans because of the intricate details in each and every one of its pieces. This line was all about detail with hand-sewn artwork. Pearls, rhinestones, quaint buttons, unique textures, beautiful colors and shades of white, blue and brown were used as the base of the collection.
Chanel always stays true to its classic style, but still stays modern and in tune with what is popular in the fashion world. In this haute couture line, Chanel incorporated a hoodie in a wedding dress and a translucent, rhinestoned cape with a pantsuit.
Talk about genius. Let’s see what the label will bring to the table next when New York Fashion Week returns on Feb. 11.
