A domestic dispute that began in a car Saturday night turned physical and ended with the couple being struck by a car on
The accident happened after a man had chased his female partner across the street and was trying to bring her back to their car.

The victim told police that Springer started getting violent, pounding on the dashboard and then grabbed her cell phone. She then pulled into a parking lot.
A physical confrontation then occurred inside the car and continued outside. The victim was shoved into the car and onto the ground where she was allegedly choked by Springer.
The victim managed to break free from Springer and began running away, screaming for help. Springer ran after her and then placed her over his shoulder after he caught her.
He then ran into traffic on Sheridan, where driving conditions were reported as dark and wet. As Springer was carrying his victim across Sheridan, they were struck by a westbound vehicle, causing both to fall to the ground.
The victim was able to get up and ran into Fatman’s pizzeria for help.
Police arrived and found the woman hiding in a corner of the restaurant with an employee guarding her. According to a police report, Springer “”was attempting to force his way through the employees to get to her.””
An officer grabbed Springer and attempted to detain him, but Springer shoved the officer in the chest. He was then arrested.
Police report Springer was “”highly intoxicated.””
The victim suffered a bump to her head, a bruised right arm and a scraped knee.
