Thursday
? Strange Behavior Movie Night at the Red Room – If scouring the racks at Casa Video for bizarre foreign films has become too routine, let the Grill do it for you. This week’s movie night will feature two Seijun Suzuki films: “”Tokyo Drifter”” and “”Branded To Kill.”” Instead of the late fees you’d be bound to accrue, you can better spend your money on beer and tots. Red Room at Grill, 100 E. Congress St. 10 p.m. Free.
Friday
? Islands – The six-piece indie rock band, an offshoot of the Unicorns, brings their act to Congress with Awol One and Crayonsmith. If the name Crayonsmith isn’t enough reason to out the show, maybe Club Congress’s description of the band as a “”dark army of bees heading towards your unguarded children on the open plain”” will. It’s all ages, so bring your kids! Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St. 9 p.m. Tickets are $13.
Saturday
? Roller Derby Double Header – Tucson Roller Derby presents an evening of all the skating, blocking and shoving you can possibly stand! Seriously. First the Vice Squad will spar against the yet-consistently-defeated Iron Curtain, followed by what’s bound to be a close match between the Copper Queens and the Furious Truckstop Waitresses. Bladeworld, 1065 W. Grant Road. Tickets are $10, free for children.
