Teach For America, an organization that helps eliminate educational inequality in the U.S., will host an information session in the Kiva Room of the Student Union Memorial Center today at 6:30 pm. Teach For America and UA alumnus Steve Erickson will talk about his experience with the group. The event is open to UA students from all majors and backgrounds. Once started, it’s hard to stop
On this day in 1789, the very young United States took out its first loan to help clean up its messy finances. The loan, for $191,608.81, was repaid in less than one year. If only it were so today. The U.S. national debt is now more than $9 trillion.
