With hopes of joining the swimmers at next week’s NCAA Championships, the Arizona diving teams spent the weekend in Oklahoma City for the Zone “”E”” Diving Championships.
Friday, freshman Mike Guilfoil, a newcomer to the Championships, saw the most success for the men, finishing 13th in the 1-meter springboard competition and 18th in the 3m springboard event.
Junior Matt Bisordi, who was also new to the event, finished 15th in both the 1m and 3m springboard events.
On the women’s side, senior team captain Megan MacDonald came in 26th place in the 1m springboard, failing to better her finish last year (24th place). She then posted a 16th-place finish in the 3m competition.
Sophomore Allison Scaife finished 29th place in the 1m springboard event.
As of last night, there were no results from Saturday’s competition, the 10m platform.
The NCAA Championships run Thursday through Saturday.
