Campus Crossings on Eighth Street is just two blocks south of the UA campus and is another off-campus housing option for students looking to get away from dorm life or wanting a change of apartments.

Campus Crossings offers amenities such as a pool and a tanning bed, as well as monthly events for its residents. The apartments are fully furnished, and rent includes cable TV and internet. Prices start at $299 a month to share a room in a two-bedroom apartment.

Whitney Neel, a leasing specialist, has been working at Campus Crossings for six months.

“I honestly love working here,” Neel said.

Neel works with potential residents to sign leases, and helps plan events every month for the complex.

“One of the strengths is we are a small property, so it’s easier to communicate with the residents,” Neel said. “We try to have four or five resident events per month.”

Neel said the property has 256 bed spaces, which is smaller than many of the dorms on campus.

Eddie Montgomery, a biology freshman, enjoys living at Campus Crossings.

“It feels like home,” Montgomery said. “I feel welcome.”

Montgomery’s only complaint is that there is no pool table.

Nathan Germano, a biology junior, has been living at Campus Crossings for five months.

“It’s nice and quiet,” Germano said. “I have no complaints about it. I haven’t had any big issues.”

Germano also said the wifi wasn’t very good, but it eventually fixes itself.

Sara Jarocki, a business marketing sophomore, moved into Campus Crossings in October, and has enjoyed it.

“It’s great,” Jarocki said. “I like how quiet it is, but I wish they would fix my ceiling.”

Erica Mohr, an optical engineering sophomore, moved in at the start of the semester.

“For the most part, I really like it here,” Mohr said.

Mohr also said the people at the front desk know everyone by name, and are very friendly and helpful.

Mohr, like most college students, was very excited about events with free food, and said that Campus Crossings has a lot of events like this.

“The social events are great,” Mohr said. “They give us a lot of free food. However, the maintenance requests take forever.”
