Our Sports Desk staff weighed in on who they think will win the Super Bowl.

Since everyone is probably guessing the Carolina Panthers willl walk away victorious in 2016 Super Bowl and college is about rebelling, Denver is taking home the Lombardi Trophy. With a defense that employs two shutdown corners and premier edge rushers, the Broncos should be able to contain Cam Newton. The team’s offense can even work with an ASU student, so Denver ends Carolina’s Cinderella season.
Final Score: Broncos 24, Panthers 16

One loss, an elite defense and the best player in the NFL this season will be the main storyline come Sunday. The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton will win this year’s Super Bowl. The Panthers have quietly had one of the most dominant seasons in NFL history and they will cap that off with a Super Bowl win against the Broncos and Peyton Manning.
Final Score: Panthers 27, Broncos 17

I’m expecting the Super Bowl to be very similar to the one two years ago when the Seahawks dominated the Broncos. As of now, the Carolina Panthers have the best defense in the NFL. They destroyed the Cardinals offense — which was one of the best — and Denver’s offense is not nearly as solid. When Manning is under pressure, he constantly has turnovers. I predict a blowout victory by the Panthers.
Final Score: Broncos 16, Panthers 38

This season’s Super Bowl is a tale of two stories. The legendary quarterback in Manning, who returned just in time for playoffs, but was carried by a stingy defense. The other side of the story is an MVP-caliber quarterback in Newton, who has taken the NFL by storm with his bright smile and positive personality that is apparently disliked among Seattle Seahawk fans.
Carolina dismantled a surging Arizona Cardinals club in the NFC Championship and it’s understandable that many wish to see Manning ride off into the sunset with a ring. The Panthers will win big behind their ringleader. Sunday may, most likely, hurt the feelings of Manning fans. It’s just too bad they don’t make Band-Aids for feelings.
Final Score: Panthers 34, Broncos 13
