UA President Robert Shelton e-mailed students Friday to address concern about the spread of the H1N1 Virus, or Swine Flu.
This semester, there have been 19 students who have tested positive for flu. The H1N1 Virus was confirmed in 13 of those cases, Shelton said in the e-mail.
Shelton assured students that the UA is prepared for the spread of flu with a pandemic management plan.

Guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that address preventing flu from spreading in tight spaces, such as dormitories and greek houses, can be viewed at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/
Shelton said students infected with H1N1 may be given masks. Food may also be brought to infected students’ rooms to prevent them exposing from others in campus dining facilities.
Shelton said the most important thing is not to panic.
UA officials expect the flu to be widespread, but comparatively mild, he said.
