April Adele’s 2005 gold Chevy Malibu after Curtis Duram’s 2004 Volvo S60 hit the Malibu causing it to crash into the light pole at 1 p.m. at Mountain and Speedway on Wednesday 18 January, 2012. Adele had to crawl out of the back door of her car to get out, and her passenger Lauren Franzen’s head was injured and covered in blood. Keith Hickman-Perfetti/ Arizona Daily Wildcat

An accident occurred on Mountain Avenue and Speedway Boulevard at exactly 1 p.m. Two cars were involved in the crash. A gold 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by April Adele, a student at Aveda Cosmetology School, was forced head-on into a traffic light pole after being hit perpendicularly by a silver 2004 Volvo S60, driven by Curtis Durham, a UA linguistics graduate student. The pole is slightly damaged. Lauren Franzen, a passenger in Adele’s car, suffered a head injury during the accident.
