Last day to request absentee ballot
Today is the last day to request an absentee ballot for the Nov. 7 general elections. Citizens from any county can request ballots online at the county recorder’s Web site, by mail or by contacting the county recorder’s office via phone. Ballots will be mailed.
Halloween hoedown tonight
The weekly Friday festivities on University Boulevard are taking a Halloween twist tonight, with a costume contest, pumpkin decorating, scary films outside Geronimo Plaza, trick-or-treaters and the usual painting of the mural. “”Almost Free Friday”” is tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Main Gate Square. Late professor honored with MikeWellsFest
Michael Wells, a regents professor of biochemistry who died in May, will be celebrated this weekend with a day of science at the Manuel T. Pacheco Integrated Learning Center tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a reception at the Four Points Sheraton. The MikeWellsFest will conclude Sunday at the Tucson Botanical Garden.
