The Arizona women’s tennis team will host North Carolina State for its last non-conference match of the season today at noon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
“N.C. State was ranked in the Top 25 when the year started, so I know they are good,” head coach Vicky Maes said. “We cannot overlook them based on where they are now. We are going to have to be hungry and we’re going to have to play solid start to finish.”
This will be the first time the Wildcats meet the Wolfpack.
Arizona goes into today’s match 9-3 for the season and 7-0 at home. Meanwhile, N.C. State comes to Tucson off its first ACC win of the season in a close match against Wake Forest, 4-3. The Wolfpack’s season record stands at 4-6.
N.C. State’s Joelle Kissell is ranked No. 46 in singles, while Arizona senior Natasha Marks and sophomore Kim Stubbe are ranked No. 92 and No. 100 respectively.
“We’re still growing as a team and we cannot get comfortable,” Maes said. “Every match is an opportunity to improve and I expect the same Wednesday.”
