A UA employee reported a suspicious person attempting to enter doors on the north and west sides of the Sigma Kappa sorority house, 1588 E. First St., on Monday.
A man was detained at 3:25 a.m. He told officers, “”I wasn’t trying to get into the building; I was only looking for snipes.”” He explained that snipes are cigarette butts.
The man had been warned on two previous occasions for displaying suspicious behavior.
Officers responded to a report of a broken lock on an Eegee’s cart at 6:30 a.m. Monday.
The cart was parked on 1212 E. University Blvd. The lock appeared to have been removed with bolt cutters.
Nothing was missing from the cart and no other damage was reported.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
Officers responded to reports of a man drinking in public at 10:08 p.m. Monday.
Police made contact with the man in the Circle K parking lot, 1610 E. Sixth St. He was arrested on account of four previous warrants.
A student lost his card in an ATM machine Monday.
The student said he used the machine in the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd. He was not sure whether he’d left the card in the machine or if it was stolen.
The student canceled the card.
A woman reported her husband missing at 6:39 a.m. Monday.
She told police that her husband went to the McKale Sports Shop, 1721 E. Enke Drive, to visit their son at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. He did not return home or answer phone calls.
Their son was questioned, though he could not provide information about his father’s whereabouts.
The woman later discovered where her husband went, though he still had not called her.
He had checked in as a guest at Luke Air Force Base near Glendale on Sunday.
