FINAL: Arizona beats Oregon State 76-54

After leading by 10 points at halftime, the No. 2-ranked Arizona Wildcats retained momentum and continued to extend their lead, ultimately defeating Oregon State 76-54 in an old fashioned blowout Sunday evening in McKale Center.

Four Wildcats scored in the double digits.

In the game’s final period, the Wildcats consistently held a double-digit advantage over the Beavers and at one time in the match, led by as many as 24 points. About 10 minutes into the second half, Arizona held a 14-point lead. With 5:35 on the clock, the UA had widened the gap and was in command of a 67-48 advantage.

Freshman forward Aaron Gordon finished the night with a game-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds, a block and a steal over 31 minutes played.

Freshman forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ended the evening with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in his second Pac-12 Conference start. Sophomore center Kaleb Tarczewski had a team-leading seven boards and amassed eight points.

Junior point guard T.J. McConnell contributed 11 points, six rebounds and six assists. He also tallied two steals.

Junior guard Nick Johnson scored 10 points, eight in the second half, pulled down two rebounds and had three assists and two steals on the night.

Senior guard Jordin Mayes made the most of his opportunity and subsequently added nine points off of 1-of-2, 3-point attempts and had a perfect 6-for-6 from the stripe.
