The Arizona men’s tennis team will try to turn its season around at home with its next two matches on Saturday against No. 46 San Diego State, and Monday against New Mexico State.
“Despite some tough losses, the guys have a great attitude and are ready to work every day,” head coach Tad Berkowitz said. “I’ve seen improvement with our guys and I believe our tough schedule will pay off down the road.”
Saturday marks Arizona and San Diego State’s 27th meeting, with the Wildcats having a 22-4 advantage over the Aztecs.
In their last meeting on March 15, 2010, the Wildcats defeated San Diego State 5-2.
Meanwhile, Monday marks the Wildcats’ 19th meeting with New Mexico State, with Arizona holding a 17-1 advantage over the Aggies.
In Arizona’s last meeting with New Mexico State on March 6, 2011, the Wildcats defeated the Aggies 6-1, a victory that snapped the Lobos’ six-game winning streak.
“These matches will be a good challenge for us, but by the weekend’s end, I believe we will come out on top,” Berkowitz said.
