ASUA will be hosting an Alumni Mixer on Friday night to show organization alumni the changes that have been made since they graduated.

The Associated Students of the University of Arizona members will present their current projects and programs in an annual event that allows ASUA alumni and current student directors to connect. The mixer will be held at Pasco Kitchen and Lounge on University Boulevard from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

ASUA Outreach and Development Director Courtney Campbell created a fifteen-minute video presentation featuring photos of ASUA directors, executives and senators. The presentation includes information on the officers, what they have been working on, their successes so far and what they are looking forward to this year.

“[The event is] just to kind of reflect on how things can change and how they are very similar,” Campbell said. “In the sense that the reasons they got involved, and the reasons they loved ASUA, and the reasons they still come back for Homecoming were very similar to how I feel about the school and the organization.”

According to ASUA Vice President Krystina Nguyen, the organization hosted the event at Pasco last year and according to Campbell, everyone loved it.

“We just wanted to keep it close to campus so that people can enjoy the atmosphere of Bear Down Friday,” Campbell said. “We wanted to be able to have everyone feel like they didn’t have to miss out on something by being there.”

Campbell went to the event two years ago when she was an ASUA Senator and a sophomore. The event was at Gentle Ben’s that year, and she said that it was a great way to meet people who were in the Senate when they were at the UA.

“It was really awesome to see what type of student issues they were seeing in the 1970’s compared to what are the really pertinent student issues today,” Campbell said.

Nguyen encouraged all ASUA senators to attend this year’s event and spoke of looking forward to the event.

“I’m very excited,” Nguyen said. “Our alumni are our biggest supporters.”
