Having spent last season as a reserve on the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers, forward Channing Frye has comes to terms with a deal to play for his hometown Phoenix Suns, multiple media sources are reporting.
Frye, who played for former head coach Lute Olson for four years at Arizona, will earn a two-year, $3.8 million deal with the Suns, ESPN.com said.
On his blog, Frye wrote, “”Glad to be with the Phoenix Suns.””
Averaging 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20 minutes for his career, Frye openly questioned his role with the Blazers after his role was reduced the past year. He averaged 4.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 11.8 minutes per game last season.
