Summer debauchery getting old? Plan an outing to Mount Lemmon and marvel at a cosmic display that has been observed for thousands of years. The Perseid Meteor Shower is expected to reach its peak at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Because the moon descends around 1:30 a.m., the sky will be completely dark, save for falling meteors and stars, in the quiet hours before dawn.
The Perseus constellation rises around 11 p.m. in the northeast, so head in that direction, bring some snacks and a bottle of wine (respecting, of course, local park laws) and enjoy.
