    Pinkberry brings healthy option

In response to “Pinkberry will hurt Tucson business (Oct. 26):

I am very happy that there will be a Pinkberry store in Tucson. However, we are not students. So I am hoping that it isn’t too difficult to go on campus to purchase cartons to take home. I was introduced to this wonderful yogurt in L.A., where my daughter lives. She tries to eat healthy and she was very happy to have discovered this close to her home. When she attended the U of A in 1993, it was very easy to find high fat and high calorie foods on and near campus. In fact, that’s about all there was to choose from. Since she has moved on, things have drastically changed for the better, offering healthy choices. We should all be happy about that and not try to shut them out. Let’s welcome something new and healthy.

As far as the other restaurants dropping yogurt from their menus, that’s their choice. Someone may want to talk to them to keep what they’ve been serving. Having a little competition for a healthy snack might be progress that we all need. People get set in their ways and we need to stay on our toes if we want to compete. A little competition is good for all! We need to be more business-friendly in Tucson.

I will be waiting anxiously for the announcement that it is open for business.
