    3 things to know today

    America, eat your vegetables

    Less than 11 percent of Americans consume the recommended two servings of fruits and three servings of vegetables daily, according to a study published in the April issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. About 62 percent do not consume any whole fruit servings, while 25 percent eat no vegetables at all, falling far below the Dietary Guidelines for Americans set in 1990.

    Duct tape can’t cure warts

    Contrary to popular belief, duct tape cannot cure warts, according to a study published in the Journal Archives of Dermatology. Patients with warts were divided into groups, with some wearing moleskin pads with duct tape while others just wore the moleskin pad. There was no difference in the rate the warts vanished.

    Sea found on Saturn’s moon

    The international Cassini spacecraft, lead by UA scientists, has discovered sea-size bodies of liquid on the surface of Saturn’s largest moon, Titan. The camera images confirm what researchers have theorized: Titan has hydrocarbon seas due to methane and other organic compounds in its cold, largely nitrogen atmosphere.
