Arizona football runs onto the field through a human corridor formed by the marching band at Arizona Stadium before the 2014 Homecoming game against Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014.

Arizona head football coach Rich Rodriguez has found his new defensive coordinator.

Marcel Yates, formerly the defensive coordinator at Boise State, accepted the same coaching position at Arizona, the program confirmed Monday morning.

This past season, Yates coached a Boise State defense that ranked among the top nationally in a handful of statistics.

The Broncos were No. 12 in the country in total defense, limiting teams to 318.3 yards per game and also also ranked No. 5 nationally in forced turnovers as well as rushing defense.

Yates, a 38-year old Los Angeles native, is also regarded as a good recruiter and may be able to help Arizona reel in some top high school athletes before the National Signing Day.
