Free admission to arboretum
Regular daily admission to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum will be waived until Sunday for UA students, faculty and staff with a CatCard.
The arboretum, part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, is located near Superior. On Saturday, along with regular trails and picnics, the arboretum will feature guided bird and butterfly walks, living displays of animals and a culinary herb demonstration. Laughter really is the best medicine
Cancer patients who have a sense of humor outlive serious patients, according to a study from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The study of 2,015 patients found that those who claimed humor was a big part of their lives cut their chances of death by 70 percent in seven years, compared to those who did not.
U.S. losing its appeal
College students are taking their spring break parties overseas, according to About.com’s Student Travel section. None of the 2007 top three spring break spots are in the U.S.; Mexico’s Cancun, Rosarito Beach and Acapulco beat out popular spots like Las Vegas and South Padre Island, Texas. Lower drinking ages and all-night clubs are suspected to have played an integral part in the rankings.
