The Arizona Wildcats softball team won their first Pac-12 Championship in ten years after defeating the No. 12 UCLA Bruins 7-2 Sunday at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles.
In doing so, Arizona has qualified for its 31st consecutive NCAA tournament, a new NCAA softball record. The win also marks the 11th championship in program history.
The wildcats are in position to host a regional sometime next week and should they win, host a super regional after that. All games will be played at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Arizona finished the regular season with a 48-7 mark, 18-6 in the Pac-12 and will now have a week off before the regional due to conference scheduling.
The Wildcats haven’t been back to the Womens College World Series since 2010.
