Arizona women’s golf took fifth place at the PING/ASU Invitational this weekend at the ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
The fifth-place finish is the UA’s third top-five finish of this season. No. 7 South Carolina won the team title, finishing 11-under-par. No. 3 Duke and No. 6 ASU shared second place with both teams finishing 5-under-par.
Celine Boutier from Duke won the individual championship, finishing the tournament 8-under-par. The Wildcats’ top performer was freshman Wanasa Zhou. She finished 2-under-par, which put her in eighth place at the end of competition. Zhou’s eighth-place finish was her second top-10 finish of the year and her fourth top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore Lindsey Weaver finished in a five-way tie for 27th place and was 3-over-par. Junior Andrea Vilarasau and freshman Jessica Vasilic finished in a three-way tie for 37th place and 6-over-par. Junior Manon Gidali finished in a seven-way tie for 40th place, 7-over-par.
The Wildcats will be in action again at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif., April 14-15.
