Arizona offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes announced he would take the head coaching position at Louisiana Tech University Wednesday.
“”I want to start out by letting everyone know how honored I am to be named the head football coach at Louisiana Tech,”” said Dykes in a Louisiana Tech press conference in Ruston, La. “”I have worked my entire life to get to this point, and I have had lots of great mentors that have worked with me and taught me and brought me along. I am very fortunate to be here.””
Dykes will be replacing former La. Tech coach, Derek Dooley, who left to take the Tennessee head coaching vacancy. He was Arizona’s offensive coordinator for three seasons that were marked by a spread offensive attack for the Wildcats.
