What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
I am going home for Thanksgiving. I live in Glendale, which is northwest of Phoenix. I am having dinner with my parents, my sister, and I am bringing a roommate along with me to have Thanksgiving, because he is from California and is not going home for Thanksgiving.
What is your favorite dish?
I would have to say mashed potatoes or even turkey or yams. I don’t have one. It is all really good.
What are your feelings about tofu turkey?
I think it’s called tofurkey. I’m sure that if it tastes good, I have nothing against it.
What are some family traditions you have?
A family tradition is that the kids do the dishes after Thanksgiving dinner is over.
What is a fond childhood memory you have of past Thanksgivings?
Probably just watching my mom and her sisters make Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen and talking about their lives and what they used to do in the olden days when they were poor. And sitting on the couch with my dad watching football.
Do you help prepare dinner?
I do. I help as much as possible, because it’s usually just my mom in the kitchen. I try and help her. I make some bomb stuffing. It is really good, but don’t ask me what’s in it.
Do you have a large or small number of people at your Thanksgiving dinner?
It is pretty small since my dad’s family lives in California and my mom is from New Zealand, so her family doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving. It is just my dad, my mom, my sister and myself.
