Recently, Tucson Electric Power made the smart decision to reinstate its energy efficiency programs after a devastating cut by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) in 2012. Despite a lack of guaranteed funding from the ACC this year, TEP has chosen to go ahead with the programs anyway. We are very proud to see the priority TEP has placed on finding clean energy alternatives. We thank TEP and encourage the ACC to approve funding for the important programs and the jobs it provides.
The UA campus, too, has been making strides in energy efficiency, providing outreach such as House Energy Doctor program and the Southwest Climate Change Network. Students interested in finding ways to work together and help increase use of renewable energies on campus and in Tucson can come to the first meeting of the UA’s newest club, the Sierra Student Coalition. The meeting will be on April 4, 3:30 p.m. at the first floor conference room of the Historic Y on 738 N. Fifth Ave. We’ll be serving free solar-powered pizza from Brooklyn Pizza Company.
We will also be on the UA Mall for Earth Day, April 22 with the Sierra Club and hope to see you all there!
Thanks for your attention; we are hoping to get this news out to students and staff!

In response to “Inane legal technicalities no excuse for throwing out case against Tom Horne” (by Nathaniel Drake, April 1):
“According to Eigenheer, Bennett should have given the evidence against Horne to Horne so he could investigate himself.”
Nope. Try again.

In response to “Arizona Wildcats basketball seniors take a final bow, give valiant Sweet Sixteen effort” (by Zack Rosenblatt, March 29):
Well done, Zack. Lyons was so much fun to watch. He got a lot of criticism from UA fans and media but there is no doubt in my mind that he was critically clutch all season and was a big player in the biggest moments. That “and 1” at the end of the game last night was huge and would’ve been an all-time play had the ‘Cats won.

Kaleb was a ghost in that game. I hope Kaleb, Jerrett and Ashley get tough and take over AZ. It was a good run and AZ could have won that game no doubt. Thanks Hill, for the four years and in Sean Miller, I trust in his recruiting and we’ll be back soon.
