    3 things to know today

    MLK march Monday

    The annual Martin Luther King Jr. March will begin at the UA Mall Monday at 8 a.m. and continue to Reid Park, followed by a celebration that will last until 4 p.m. This year’s theme is “”Silence = Death: We Must Eliminate HIV.”” For more information, contact Cynthia Quijada, co-director of the Office of African American Student Affairs, at 520-621-3419.

    Coffee for your workout?

    Caffeine can help reduce post-workout soreness by 48 percent, according to a study to be published in the February issue of The Journal of Pain. University of Georgia researchers found that caffeine equivalent to two cups of coffee reduced the amount of post-workout muscle pain in a group of female college students who did not regularly exercise or consume caffeine. Be careful, the researchers also warn that too much caffeine can produce negative side effects.
