Arizona women’s basketball lands a grad transfer to add to a deep Arizona bench for next year. Trinity Baptiste is a six-foot forward coming from Virginia Tech and was the sixth player of the year this past season, averaging 9.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in 23 minutes per game. Virginia Tech finished 21-9 overall and 11-7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Baptiste has been on a journey throughout college basketball. She played her freshman year at Northwest Florida State College where she received first-team all-conference honors. She also got picked up by the National Tournament team.
Her ceiling with Arizona is high. In her sophomore year at Virginia Tech, she shot 55.3% from 3-point range, along with 49.6% from the field. Her numbers took a dip her junior year as she changed roles to coming off the bench. She still shot a solid 37.3% from 3-point range and 43.8% from the field.
Baptiste is able to provide a big lift for the Wildcats from beyond the arc, whether she is coming off of the bench or becoming a key player as a starter for Arizona.
