The Arizona GymCats fall to ASU 196.525-196.300 in their last Pac-12 Conference meet of the season.
In the first rotation, Arizona was on the vault event and ASU was on the uneven bars event. The GymCats were led by Heather Swanson in this rotation as she posted a score of 9.850. The ASU Sun Devils were led by Juliette Boyer who was able to post a score of 9.875, but the UA held a 49.100- 49.075 lead after the first rotation.
In the second rotation, ASU was on the vault event and the Arizona GymCats were on the uneven bars event. The ASU Sun Devils were led by Hannah Scharf in this rotation with a score of 9.875. The GymCats were led by Christina Berg who posted a score of 9.825 in the second rotation.
In the third rotation, the ASU Sun Devils were on the floor routine event and the GymCats were on the balance beam event. The GymCats were led by Sirena Linton, and she posted a score of 9.900. The ASU Sun Devils’ leading scorers in this rotation were Morgan Wilson and Juliette Boyer, who were both able to post scores of 9.850 on the floor routine event. Linton was able to earn a new season high with a 9.9 score on the balance beam event.
In the fourth and final rotation, the Arizona GymCats were on the floor routine event and the ASU Sun Devils were on the balance beam event. The GymCats were led by Malia Hargrove who was able post a score of 9.900 on the floor routine event. The ASU Sun Devils were led by Scharf, and she posted a score of 9.875 on the balance beam event. ASU was able to hold on to a 196.525- 196.300 lead to take home the victory.
The GymCats will be back in action on Sunday, March 8, in a tri-meet with Ohio State and Bridgeport.
