Although Arizona didn’t take home the NCAA Tournament trophy, the Wildcats still earned some hardware from head coach Sean Miller.
Miller announced Arizona’s 2011-12 team awards on Monday, with forward Solomon Hill taking home the team’s most valuable player honor. The 6-foot-6, 226-pound junior averaged 12.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while starting all 35 games. He led the team in field goal percentage and assists while shooting a career-high 38.9 percent from three.
UA senior Kyle Fogg took home two awards, winning Best Defender and Most Improved Player. Fogg led the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game while shooting 42.0 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three. Fogg scored 20 or more seven times and led Arizona with 37 steals.
