The suspect in last week’s sexual assault at a UA residence hall is still at large, although police have a few leads, according to University of Arizona Police Department officials.
Sgt. Eugene Mejia, UAPD spokesman, said police are investigating the assault, which occurred at Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall around 2:45 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect was in the residence hall before a female student arrived and attacked her in one of the common areas, Mejia said.
Though UAPD has received calls on sightings of the individual, described as a black male in his late 30s who is thin and may have a one-day growth of a beard without a moustache, they are still looking for more information.
“”Obviously, the best information we can get is a name,”” Mejia said.
Receiving reports on sightings of the suspect will take a lot longer than information on a possible name, he said.
Police are still asking for any information on the incident. Anyone with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
“”It’s a very important case to us,”” Mejia said. “”We want to make an arrest.””
