Fall is slowly encroaching upon Tucson, which means a shopping spree is in order. Before we know it, we’re going to be throwing on a windbreaker and blasting Christmas music through our headphones on the way to class.

It’s not winter yet, though, so we asked three UA student’s what they’ll be wearing in the meantime.

Nancy Medina, French studies freshman

What is your fall-outfit inspiration?

“I usually just wear jackets, and I love maroons and the olive greens for fall, and ripped jeans are all I own.”

Is fall your favorite season?

“Honestly, yeah, this is the only time the weather is good enough to actually wear things I like.”

Why is fall your favorite season to dress for?

“I love shorts and stuff, but for fall I really love the cute jackets and the boots. I also wear scarves but I’m waiting for it to get a little colder first.”

Shamin Shukkoor, pre-business sophomore

What was the inspiration for your outfit?

“It was really cold out this morning and I couldn’t get out with just jeans. Today I am wearing all black so I just limited it to a whole color scheme.”

What was theme for your outfit today?

“It wasn’t anything too specific, it was just something I put together to keep me warm.”

What colors do you usually wear in the fall?

“It usually depends on what I’m looking for in the outfit. If the main piece is jeans or something, I kind of go with whatever goes with it. I kind of just like the black denim and how it goes with the lumberjack theme.”

Marlene Effiwatt, creative writing junior

What was your inspiration for your outfit today?

“I ride my bike so I like pants that are comfortable. So these are boyfriend jeans because they’re not too tight. It was chilly this morning, so this is an old sweater.”

Do you have a specific look in the fall?

“I wouldn’t say a look. I have a really bizarre fashion sense. I really like stripes so a lot of my clothes have black and white stripes in them. I think functionality and practicality are really important — looking cute is great, but if you’re uncomfortable all day, then you look less cute.”

Do you ever accessorize with your outfits?

“No, I don’t really like jewelry a lot, but I really like earrings. It adds a pop of color. A colorful backpack definitely helps. I don’t wear too much make up — I would if I knew how.”
