The UA women’s basketball team’s season is over, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have some outstanding athletes during the 2008-09 campaign.
Sophomore forward Ify Ibekwe, freshman guard Courtney Clements and senior forward Amina Njonkou were all named among those on one of the All-Pacific 10 Conference teams, it was announced at the league’s tournament banquet in Los Angeles on Monday.
Ibekwe, who was an all-Pac-10 Freshman Team honoree last season, was placed on the All-Pac-10 first team and was also named to the All-Pac-10 Defensive Team.
Clements was one of five players who made it onto the All-Pac-10 Freshman Team. Njonkou made her second-straight appearance on the honorable mention list in her last season as a Wildcat.
