“On the spot: Rob Gerard, political science freshman”

What did you do for spring break?

Um, went back home to Los Angeles, played some golf and hung out with my little brothers.

What’d you shoot on the golf course?

Um… I don’t really remember. We were just out messin’ around. I never really played 18 holes, we just kinda-

    Raced the carts.

    Basically.

What would you say was the funniest thing that happened this past week was?

My little brother had a school dance – he’s a junior in high school – and him and his friends, they all went shopping for clothes and they all came back with their nails painted and weird stuff … it was just pretty gay of them. But it was funny.

    So you’ve been watching basketball?

Uh, a little bit, but I didn’t see Arizona play. I’ve seen all the other games except for our games.

    Did you make a bracket?

    I did.

So being a political science major, do you think Obama is spending too much time focusing on the tournament, making a bracket when everyone is saying he should be focusing on his job?

… I think it’s good. I think that with Bush for the last 8 years they kind of, like, hid him in a closet. If it wasn’t political, he wasn’t out doing something and even when he was doing political stuff we didn’t see a lot of him. I feel that it’s refreshing.
