After a change in the start time and a couple of rain delays, Saturday’s baseball game between Seton Hall and Arizona was finally suspended in the middle of the fourth inning. Game two of the three game series will be resumed Sunday at noon.

The Pirates will have a 1-0 lead in the home half of the fourth inning. The final game of the series will follow immediately after the conclusion of the suspended game.

Saturday’s game was originally scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., but on Feb. 27, the Wildcats decided to move the first pitch to 2 p.m. due to impending evening weather conditions.

Arizona pitcher Cody Hamlin (2-0) allowed one run over four innings of work. Seton Hall scattered three hits off the right-hander, who also struck out two and walked a pair of Pirate batters.

The only run of the game came off of a home run down the right field line by Seton Hall designated hitter Tyler Boyd in the top of the fourth.

Pirates pitcher Anthony Elia (1-1) allowed three Wildcat hits over the three innings, but had difficulty with his command. The left-hander threw 45 pitches — 27 for strikes — gave up two walks and threw two wild pitches.

No pitcher was named by either team to start the suspended game on Sunday. Arizona had outfielder Kenny Meimerstorf up to bat with no outs and no runners on when the game was suspended.
