Arizona Wildcats forward Derrick Williams has officially announced he will declare for the NBA draft and will sign with an agent, according to a statement released by Arizona Athletics.

The 6-foot-8-inch sophomore averaged 8.3 rebounds 19.5 ppg in the 2011-11 season.

Speculation over whether Williams would declare for the June draft became rampant due to his performances in the Wildcats’ second and third round games of the NCAA Tournament.

Williams also earned Pacific 10 Conference Player of the Year honors and was named an AP second team All-American.
