    Three things to know today

    Election Day

ASUA will be providing free shuttles for students who want to vote in the general elections today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shuttles will leave from the Old Main fountain. Polls close today at 7 p.m., but any person in line at 7 p.m. will not be turned away. Visit the Pima County Recorder’s Office Web site www.recorder.co.pima.az.us for more information.

    Mice on the fly

Older, jet-lagged mice die younger, according to a study by the University of Virginia in the journal Current Biology released yesterday. Mice subjected to varying schedules of light and darkness – intended to simulate international travel – died sooner than those on normal schedules. Eighty-three percent of the 100 mice survived under the normal schedule, but 47 percent survived when the lights regularly came on six hours earlier.

    Transgender Artist Gallery Show

The Transgender Artist Gallery Show kicked off this week in the Kachina Lounge of the Student Union Memorial Center during union hours. The show features local transgender artists’ original art and photography through Dec. 30.
