Sandra Um joins the UApresents family as the new director of development Monday. A native Tucsonan Um is coming from the Arizona Theatre Company where she was the associate director of development. In the midst of huge cutbacks UApresents faces a tough year, something Um will be taking on as director of development for the program.

“”Sandy is a great addition,”” said Executive Director Natalie Bohnet of Um. “”I am confident she will implement strategic development efforts to help UApresents in this ever more vital role following our recent deep state budget cuts. Current staffs within the program support Um’s hiring and are anxious to see her at work.””

Another change for the program is the increase in prices for students and faculty from $10 to $15 for the 2009-2010 season. Although a more reasonable price than what is offered for the general public, the effect of the raise has yet to be seen. In addition to these changes, the program will be hosting the B-52s on June 24 and Randy Travis on August 22 as part of their Summer Fun season.
