ASU drops men’s and women’s tennis
A loss to ASU is not the way the Arizona men’s tennis team wanted to end its spring break.
The Devils beat the Wildcats 4-3 at the Robson Tennis Center on Saturday. Arizona lost each match 4-3.
Freshman Andres Carrasco continued his solid play by picking up Arizona’s first point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Juan Carlos Rebeza.
The Sun Devils made it 3-1 when Andres Arango beat freshman Jay Goldman 7-5, 7-5. Sophomore Pat Metham couldn’t close out his opponent and dropped a tight match by scores of 6-2, 3-6 and 7-5.
Simultaneously on court six, sophomore Ravid Hazi defeated TJ Bellama 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, but it was just a case of too little too late.
To end the action today, senior Bruno Alcala beat Harry Skinner 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.
