It took overtime again, but this time No. 4 Arizona pulled away with the 67-63 victory on the road Wednesday night.
The Wildcats blew a nine-point halftime lead and even trailed at one point in the second half. A couple late turnovers in the overtime by Utah gave extra possessions to Arizona who took advantage of them.
Freshman Aaron Gordon fouled out with just less than nine minutes to play in regulation. He finished the game with three points. Out of his five fouls three of them were on offense.
Arizona struggled in the paint for most of the night and when Gordon left offensive rebounding became even more difficult.
Offensively, sophomore Gabe York and junior Nick Johnson led Arizona. York started over Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and finished the game with 15 points, most of which came in the first half. Johnson made key late baskets. He also finished with 15 points.
Despite winning, the Wildcats loss the rebounding battle 37 to 31 and only had four second chance points.
Arizona travels to Colorado Saturday. The game will be on ESPN at 7 p.m. MST
